OSIS, Organisasi Siswa Intra Sekolah. OSIS telah diterapkan di SMPK Sang Timur. Tujuannya adalah untuk mengatur kegiatan-kegiatan sekolah dalam acara-acara tertentu, seperti pada saat hari valentine kemarin. OSIS dibentuk untuk membantu guru-guru atau bahkan kepala sekolah agar tidak kerepotan dalam mengatur sesuatu, khususnya dalam acara-acara yang penting.
Student Council. The Student Council have been executed in Sang Timur Jr. High School. Their mission is to organize school's activity in some events, like in yesterday's valentine's day. Student Council is made to help teachers or even the headmaster so they won't be troubled when organizing something, especially in some important events.
Menurut saya, OSIS dikatakan sudah siap bekerja dalam empat tahap.
According to my opinion, the Student Council are ready to work in four steps.
1. Pemilihan
Tahap ini adalah untuk memilih anggota mana saja yang akan dipilih. Tentunya yang dipilih
bukanlah sembarang orang. Orang itu harus mempunyai jiwa kepemimpinan dan harus tegas dalam melakukan sesuatu.
1. Choosing
This step is for choosing which members who will be chosen. Of course the chosen ones is not a random person. That person must have the soul of a leader and must firm when doing something.
2. Pelatihan
Tahap ini adalah untuk melatih mereka yang sudah terpilih. Tidak cukup hanya dengan memiliki jiwa kepemimpinan ataupun ketegasan. Mereka perlu dilatih agar tidak melakukan kesalahan dalam melakukan pekerjaannya. Mereka juga dilatih untuk memastikan apakah benar mereka memiliki jiwa kepemimpinan yang tepat dan bukannya menghambat. Di sini, jika ingin keluar dari OSIS, mereka bisa langsung menyampaikannya kepada pembina OSIS.
2. Training
This step is to train the chosen ones. It's still not enough to just have a leader soul an firmness. They need to be trained so they won't make a mistake when doing their job. They also trained to make sure that is it true that they have the right leader soul and not slowing everyone. In here, if they want to get out from being a student council, they can tell it directly to the Student Council builder.
3. Pelantikan
Setelah melalui beberapa pelatihan yang sangat sulit, mereka telah dinyatakan lulus menjadi anggota OSIS. Tetapi mereka harus dilantik terlebih dahulu untuk menjadi anggota OSIS yang resmi.
3. Inauguration
After through some training, they have been declared passed the exam to be the members of the Student Council. But they have to inaugurated first to be the official Student Council.
4. Pelaksanaan
Yang terakhir adalah tahap pelaksanaan. Setelah dilantik, maka OSIS sudah siap untuk melaksanakan tugas-tugas yang diberikan oleh pembina OSIS, khususnya dalam acara-acara tertentu.
4. Execution
The last one is the execution step. After inaugurated, then the Student Council is ready to do the job that has been given by the Student Council builder, especially in some events.
Di SMPK Sang Timur, terdapat suatu ruangan yang khusus dibuat untuk anggota OSIS saja. Di ruangan tersebut bisa dilakukan apa saja, seperti mengadakan rapat, dll. Biasanya, anggota OSIS sering mengadakan rapat untuk menentukan keputusan bersama tentang sesuatu. Jika sudah ditentukan, maka mereka hanya tinggal melaksanakannya saja.
In the Sang Timur Jr. High School, there was some kind of room that was made especially for the members of the Student Council. They can do anything in that room, like meeting, etc. Usually, the members of the Student Council often declaring some kind of meeting to decide everyone's decision about something. If it's already decided, then they just have to execute it.
Yang paling penting di sini adalah menentukan ketua OSIS supaya ada yang bertanggung terhadap anggota-anggotanya. Menjadi ketua OSIS tidak mudah karena harus bertanggung jawab jika terjadi kesalahan dalam pekerjaannya, baik pekerjaannya sendiri maupun pekerjaan anggotanya.
The most important here is to choose the president of the Student Council so there will be a person who is responsible about the members. Being the president is not easy because the president must responsible if there's some kind of mistake in its work, no matter if it's the president's job or even the members' job.
Di Satik, ada beberapa cara dalam memilih ketua OSIS.
In Satik, there is a few steps when choosing the Student Council president.
1. Penjelasan
Di tahap ini, calon ketua OSIS menjelaskan beberapa kegiatan atau program yang akan dilaksanakan jika ia terpilih menjadi ketua OSIS. Tentunya program yang dibuat harus menarik bagi para siswa, guru, atau bahkan pembina OSIS itu sendiri. Dan pastinya tidak melanggar aturan-aturan yang berlaku di sekolah. Program tidak boleh melebihi dana yang dimiliki sekolah.
1. Explaining
In this step, the candidates of the Student Council president explain a few programs that will be executed if he/she are chosen as the Student Council president. Surely, the programs that will be made must be interesting for the students, teachers, or even the Student Council builder itself. And of course it must not break the rules in the school. The programs must not exceed the fund which the school has.
2. Pemilihan
Setelah para calon selesai menjelaskan pendapatnya, sekarang saatnya pemilihan. Di Satik, cara memilihnya adalah dengan menuliskan nama calon yang dipilih di selembar kertas kecil, kemudian dimasukkan ke dalam suatu kotak. Setelah semua selesai memilih, kotak tersebut dibawa ke tengah lapangan untuk dihitung.
2. Choosing
After the candidates are done explaining their opinion, now it's time for choosing. In Satik, the way to choose them is to write the name of the candidate that has been chosen in one, little paper, and then put it in some kind of box. After all done choosing, the box is brought to the middle of the field to count them.
3. Penghitungan
Di tengah lapangan tersebut telah disediakan papan tulis untuk menghitung angka suara yang masuk. Yang paling banyak suaranya adalah yang menjadi ketua OSIS.

In the middle of the field there have been given a whiteboard to count the voting sound. The one who gets the biggest voting is the one who will become the Student Council president.
